In the past 8 months I’ve had three more puppies than I can possibly handle, and have been anxiously awaiting the day when I could get another… KITTEN!!!!
Let’s just be clear on something, puppies are cute. They are trainable (this may be debatable…) And, at least one of our puppies is finally showing occasional guard-dog tendencies. I can sort of see their value, but I have been known to regularly say, “I’m ready for my refund!” (All of our puppies have been free!)
But, I have been counting down the days til the puppies are “old enough” so I could begin collecting kittens! (Yes, that was plural on purpose!)
As it goes with kittens in the country, spring time is the best time for finding these adorable creatures. And, we found a few friends willing to part with some of them. Yesterday, we picked up the first of the kittens.
Meet Black Susan, named after The Little House in the Big Woods.
She is sweet and snuggly, but rather inclined to climb and jump! We know she will make a great outdoor cat (soon…. Yes, the kids claimed her as an inside cat until we get her a buddy!)
